Patientell vs Weave (2026)
Full disclosure: we make Patientell, so yes, we're biased. So here's the honest version, including where Weave wins. Short version: these aren't really the same kind of product. Weave runs your phones and front-desk communication, and reviews are one feature. Patientell does only reviews.
TL;DR
If you're shopping for a phone system, texting, reminders and forms, buy Weave and use its review requests. If that's already covered and your problem is specifically that you're not getting enough good Google reviews, that's the one thing Patientell is built for. Plenty of practices could run both.
- Pick Weave if: you want one vendor for phones, texting, reminders, scheduling, forms and payments
- Pick Patientell if: you want more, longer Google reviews without changing your phones or front-desk tools
- Pick both if: you like Weave for phones but your review count has stalled

Where Weave is better
- It replaces a lot of software. Phones with caller pop-ups, two-way texting, reminders, online scheduling, digital forms, payments. Patientell is a review product and isn't built to replace any of that.
- Deeper PMS write-back. Weave's online scheduling and forms write data back into your practice management system. We connect to the same major systems (Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft and more), but only for what we need to send review requests.
- It's a big, established company. Thousands of dental offices, a large support team, and years of integrations. We're newer and smaller.
- You might already have it. If you're paying for Weave and its review requests are getting you the reviews you want, don't buy another tool.
Where Patientell is better
- Reviews are the whole product. Our patent-pending flow is built to get patients to actually finish a review and say more than "Great service!" Longer reviews that name your providers and services do more for your Google profile than a pile of one-liners.
- No contract, no setup fee. Third-party reports say Weave usually comes with an annual agreement and a setup fee. We have neither.
- Custom questions per location. Each office chooses what to ask about, so patients mention the providers and services you care about.
- Review volume. In the one practice we've published, switching to Patientell from a large review vendor meant 2.1× more reviews per month, reviews 2–10× longer, and 12× more mentions of staff by name. That's one practice, not a study, and we don't name the previous vendor, so don't read it as a benchmark against anyone on this page. See the data.
Can you use both?
Yes. Weave keeps your phones and texting, Patientell handles review requests. The one thing to avoid is two tools texting the same patient for a review. If you add Patientell, switch off review requests in Weave so patients only get one ask.
And be honest with yourself about cost. If reviews are fine and you're only curious, the cheapest option is to keep what you have.
What we'd do today
- Pull up your Google profile and read your last 20 reviews. Count how many say more than one sentence or name a person. That's your baseline.
- If what you really need is a new phone system, demo Weave first. Reviews are a smaller problem than a front desk drowning in calls.
- If you're on Weave and reviews are the gap, first ask Weave how to get more out of its review requests. If that doesn't move the number, ask us for a demo on your practice software.
Questions
Does Weave do review requests?
Yes. Weave can send automated review requests after appointments and shows your reviews in its app. For a lot of practices that's enough.
Is Patientell a Weave replacement?
No. Patientell isn't a phone system, and it doesn't do scheduling, forms or payments. It replaces the review part only.
Does Patientell work with my practice management system?
Very likely. Patientell connects to Dentrix through a direct on-prem agent, Open Dental through its API, and Oryx through a cloud report sync. We also support Eaglesoft, Dentrix Ascend, Dentrix Enterprise, Denticon, Curve Hero, eClinicalWorks and many more. If your system isn't listed, ask us. Where there's no integration, the QR flow at checkout works on any system.
Which one is cheaper?
If you only care about reviews, a reviews-only tool is usually cheaper than an all-in-one platform. If Weave replaces your phone bill and three other tools, it can easily be the better deal. Compare against what you'd cancel, not just the sticker price.
Where do Patientell's numbers come from?
One real dental practice that switched to Patientell from a large review vendor: 2.1× more reviews per month, reviews 2–10× longer, 12× more staff mentions, and 82% fewer one-star reviews year over year. It's one practice, not a controlled study, and we don't name the previous vendor. See the full data.

We checked prices and features for every product here in October 2026. Most of these vendors don't publish prices, so ranges come from third-party reports. This stuff changes constantly, so confirm with each vendor before you sign anything. And we're not your lawyer or compliance officer.
