The best review software for pediatric dentists (2026)
Full disclosure: we make Patientell, so yes, we're biased. Pediatric practices have an advantage most offices don't: parents love talking about who was great with their kid. The goal is a review that says so.
TL;DR
In pediatric dentistry, the reviewer is the parent, and the best reviews name the person who made their anxious kid comfortable. You want an ask that reaches the parent right after the visit, and a review flow that gets them to say more than "Great office."
- Best for detailed parent reviews: Patientell (ours)
- Best for pediatric groups that want surveys too: Swell
- Best all-in-one: Weave
- Best free option: your Google review link

What makes pediatric reviews work
- Text the parent, not the patient. Make sure the mobile number in your PMS is the parent's.
- Ask about people. "Who helped your child feel comfortable today?" gets a name. Names are what other parents search for and trust.
- Timing. Within a couple of hours of the visit, before the after-school chaos.
1. PatientellOurs
- Best for
- pediatric offices that want reviews naming their team
- Price
- Quote. No contracts, no setup fees.
- Connects to
- Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Dentrix Enterprise, Open Dental, Oryx, Eaglesoft, Denticon, Curve Hero, eClinicalWorks and many more.
This is ours. Each office can set its own questions, like asking which team member helped their child, and our patent-pending flow is built to turn that into a detailed review. Texts go out automatically after appointments in your practice software (Dentrix, Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Oryx and many more), or parents scan a QR at checkout.
Reviews only. No contract, no setup fee.
2. Swell
- Best for
- pediatric groups that want parent surveys alongside reviews
- Price
- Per location. Dental association offers have run $179–$249/mo, often with 30 days free.
- Connects to
- PMS/EHR integration included in every plan.
Swell's reviews and surveys are dental-focused, integration is included, and it rolls up by location and provider, which helps if you want to know which offices parents love most.
3. Weave
- Best for
- pediatric offices that want phones, texting and reviews from one vendor
- Price
- Quote. Third-party reports put most dental offices around $250–$450/mo per location, plus a setup fee.
- Connects to
- Dentrix (including Ascend and Enterprise), Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Denticon, Curve, SoftDent and more.
Pediatric front desks take a lot of parent calls and texts. Weave's phones with caller pop-ups and two-way texting earn their keep there, and review requests come included.
4. Your free Google review link
- Best for
- small pediatric offices with a front desk that will ask every parent
- Price
- Free
- Effort
- All on your team.
Every Google Business Profile has a free review link and QR code. Print it on a card, put it at checkout, and have the front desk ask every patient before they leave. It costs nothing and it works better than most people expect, as long as your team actually asks.
The problem is consistency. On a busy Monday nobody asks, there's no follow-up text, and you have no idea who was asked and who wasn't.
Our pick
We think a review flow built for detail fits pediatric offices especially well, since parents have a lot to say, so try us. If you want parent surveys too, Swell. If your front desk is buried in parent calls, Weave first, reviews second.
What we'd do today
- Spot-check 20 patient records: is the mobile number the parent's?
- Change your review ask to mention your team: "If someone made today easier for your child, we'd love for you to mention them."
- Read your last 20 reviews and count the staff names. That's your baseline.
Questions
Is it OK to text parents for reviews about their child's visit?
Yes, if they've agreed to receive texts from your practice and you follow your texting program's consent rules. The review is the parent's, about their experience.
Is it safe to reply to patient reviews?
Yes, but never confirm that the reviewer is a patient or mention their treatment, even if they did first. HHS has fined dental practices for revealing patient information in review replies. Keep it to "Thanks for the kind words, we're glad you had a good experience." Whatever AI reply tool you use, including ours, have a human read every draft before it posts.
Can we only send review requests to happy patients?
No, and you shouldn't want to. Google's review policy says businesses must not selectively ask happy customers for reviews (called review gating), and the FTC's 2024 rule on consumer reviews cracks down on suppressing negative ones. Ask every patient. Any vendor that offers to filter unhappy patients away from Google is putting your profile at risk.
Where do Patientell's numbers come from?
One real dental practice that switched to Patientell from a large review vendor: 2.1× more reviews per month, reviews 2–10× longer, 12× more staff mentions, and 82% fewer one-star reviews year over year. It's one practice, not a controlled study, and we don't name the previous vendor. See the full data.
Try Patientell
Patent-pending review system for dental practices. Works with Dentrix, Open Dental, Oryx, Eaglesoft and many more. No contracts, no setup fees, live in under 24 hours.
We checked prices and features for every product here in October 2026. Most of these vendors don't publish prices, so ranges come from third-party reports. This stuff changes constantly, so confirm with each vendor before you sign anything. And we're not your lawyer or compliance officer.
