Patientell

The best review software for Dentrix practices (2026)

Full disclosure: we make Patientell, so yes, we're biased. We connect to Dentrix through a direct on-prem agent, and we're an authorized Dentrix integration vendor. We also support Dentrix Ascend and Dentrix Enterprise. But reviews-only isn't right for every Dentrix office, so here's the full picture.

TL;DR

On Dentrix, review software should read your appointments and text each patient after they check out, with no one exporting lists. The tools below all connect to Dentrix. The real question is whether you need reviews only or a whole front-desk platform.

  • Best for reviews on any version of Dentrix: Patientell (ours)
  • Best if you also want phones and texting: Weave
  • Best if you want reminders from Dentrix's own parent company: Lighthouse 360
  • Best for groups: Swell

Which Dentrix are you on?

  • Dentrix (often called Dentrix G-series or Core): installed on a server in your office. Most single practices.
  • Dentrix Ascend: cloud-based, runs in a browser.
  • Dentrix Enterprise: for large groups and DSOs.

Not sure? If you log in through a web browser, it's probably Ascend. It matters less for review software than it used to, since the main tools here support all three, but it changes how setup works.

Our pick

Any Dentrix version and your problem is reviews: us. Want phones and texting too: Weave. Want reminders and support from one company: Lighthouse 360. Want surveys and employee feedback: Swell.

What we'd do today

  1. Confirm which Dentrix you're on, so setup goes smoothly.
  2. Check what you already pay for. Lighthouse 360 or Weave may already include review requests that nobody turned on.
  3. If they're on and reviews are still flat, demo a reviews-only tool on your actual Dentrix setup.

Questions

Does Dentrix have built-in review requests?

Henry Schein One's patient communication products, like Lighthouse 360, include review requests. Dentrix itself is your practice management system; review texts come from a connected tool.

Do I need to give review software access to patient records?

The tool needs appointment and contact info to know who to text and when. Ask every vendor exactly what data they read, where it's stored, and whether they'll sign a BAA if your compliance team requires one.

Can we only send review requests to happy patients?

No, and you shouldn't want to. Google's review policy says businesses must not selectively ask happy customers for reviews (called review gating), and the FTC's 2024 rule on consumer reviews cracks down on suppressing negative ones. Ask every patient. Any vendor that offers to filter unhappy patients away from Google is putting your profile at risk.

Where do Patientell's numbers come from?

One real dental practice that switched to Patientell from a large review vendor: 2.1× more reviews per month, reviews 2–10× longer, 12× more staff mentions, and 82% fewer one-star reviews year over year. It's one practice, not a controlled study, and we don't name the previous vendor. See the full data.

Try Patientell

Patent-pending review system for dental practices. Works with Dentrix, Open Dental, Oryx, Eaglesoft and many more. No contracts, no setup fees, live in under 24 hours.

We checked prices and features for every product here in October 2026. Most of these vendors don't publish prices, so ranges come from third-party reports. This stuff changes constantly, so confirm with each vendor before you sign anything. And we're not your lawyer or compliance officer.
