The best review software for Eaglesoft and Open Dental practices (2026)
Full disclosure: we make Patientell, so yes, we're biased. Patientell connects to both: Open Dental through its API, and Eaglesoft too. So do most of the tools below. The real choice isn't who integrates. It's whether you want reviews only or a whole front-desk platform.
TL;DR
On Eaglesoft or Open Dental, you want review texts that fire automatically from your appointments, with no one exporting lists. Patientell, Weave, Swell, Birdeye and Podium all list integrations with both. Pick based on what else you need.
- Best for more, longer Google reviews: Patientell (ours)
- Best if you want surveys too: Swell
- Best all-in-one: Weave
- Best for many review sites and listings: Birdeye

Why integration matters
Without an integration, someone has to export a patient list or remember to send links. It works for a week. Then a busy day happens. Integration is what turns "we ask most patients" into "we ask every patient."
Integrations aren't all equal, though. Ask each vendor, including us, to show you a review text firing from a real appointment in your version of Eaglesoft or Open Dental, not a slide.
1. PatientellOurs
- Best for
- Eaglesoft and Open Dental practices that want more, longer Google reviews
- Price
- Quote. No contracts, no setup fees.
- Connects to
- Open Dental (direct API), Eaglesoft, plus Dentrix, Oryx and many more.
This is ours. On Open Dental we connect directly through its API. We support Eaglesoft too. Either way, patients get a review text after their appointment, and our patent-pending flow is built to get a detailed review that names your providers.
Reviews only: no phones, scheduling, forms or payments. No contract, no setup fee.
2. Swell
- Best for
- practices that want reviews plus surveys and employee feedback
- Price
- Per location. Dental association offers have run $179–$249/mo, often with 30 days free.
- Connects to
- PMS/EHR integration included in every plan.
Swell is dental-focused, with PMS integration in every plan, AI-drafted replies, surveys and location roll-ups. Dental offers have run $179–$249/month with 30 days free. If you want a survey program alongside reviews, it does more than we do.

Weave integrates with Eaglesoft and Open Dental, along with most other dental systems. Phones, texting, reminders, forms, payments and review requests in one bill. If you're replacing your front-desk tools anyway, it's the simpler buy.

- Price
- $399/mo (Core) or $599/mo (Pro), on a 12-month contract. Phones and some AI features cost extra.

- Integrates with the big dental PMSs, but it's built for all local businesses. Ask to see it on your system.
Podium's inbox, webchat and text-to-pay come with review requests. It's built for all local businesses, so ask to see it working with your PMS before you sign the 12-month term.
Our pick
Reviews are the problem: try us. Want surveys too: Swell. Whole front desk: Weave. Big group with a marketing team: Birdeye.
What we'd do today
- Write down your exact PMS version. Integration support can differ between versions.
- Ask each vendor for a live demo of a review text firing from a real appointment on your system.
- Ask what happens when your PMS updates. Who fixes the integration, and how fast?
Questions
Does Patientell integrate with Eaglesoft and Open Dental?
Yes. Open Dental connects directly through its API, and Eaglesoft is supported too. See how the Open Dental integration works.
Can we only send review requests to happy patients?
No, and you shouldn't want to. Google's review policy says businesses must not selectively ask happy customers for reviews (called review gating), and the FTC's 2024 rule on consumer reviews cracks down on suppressing negative ones. Ask every patient. Any vendor that offers to filter unhappy patients away from Google is putting your profile at risk.
Is it safe to reply to patient reviews?
Yes, but never confirm that the reviewer is a patient or mention their treatment, even if they did first. HHS has fined dental practices for revealing patient information in review replies. Keep it to "Thanks for the kind words, we're glad you had a good experience." Whatever AI reply tool you use, including ours, have a human read every draft before it posts.
Try Patientell
Patent-pending review system for dental practices. Works with Dentrix, Open Dental, Oryx, Eaglesoft and many more. No contracts, no setup fees, live in under 24 hours.
We checked prices and features for every product here in October 2026. Most of these vendors don't publish prices, so ranges come from third-party reports. This stuff changes constantly, so confirm with each vendor before you sign anything. And we're not your lawyer or compliance officer.
